Introducing Waiting Room Lobbies

Over the last few months, many Pesto users have asked for additional security features and configuration options to manage guest access into rooms via meeting links. We spent several weeks redesigning and simplifying the guest flow. Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of waiting room lobbies!
What's new?
For guests
When you enter a room as a guest via a meeting link, you'll be prompted to accept audio/video permissions and configure your avatar for the conversation.

Once you’ve configured your avatar, simply click “Request access” and you’ll knock on the room. Members of the team will then see the knock as a blue alarm in the room list.

For team members
To accept or reject a request from a knocking user, join the room and select an appropriate action from the toolbar at the top. Once you accept a request, the knocking user is instantly brought into the conversation.

Things to Note
Users will be prompted to knock on a room in two cases:
- They are not members of the team (e.g. guest users)
- The door is locked and other users are actively using the room. Empty locked rooms will not prompt users to knock.
Since this feature is new, please let us know if you experience any weird behavior. We appreciate any feedback and bug reports🐛🦟🪳
