Pesto Desktop App Update

We've improved out desktop app, bundling a bunch of "breaking changes" into one big update.

This new update changes the way Pesto is installed, and therefore requires a manual install process.

In this post, we'll highlight the benefits of the update and explain how to do the installation.

After a few weeks, the current apps will shut down and we will require you to use the new apps. We apologize for the complexity involved here; please note that we do not forsee another manual update in the future.

  • (All platforms) App name change: Pesto (Pragli) becomes just Pesto
  • (Windows) User installed - no longer requires admin (UAC) access to install and update
  • (All platforms) Bug fixes: particularly, with respect to screen drawing
  • (All platforms) Performance improvements

Step 1: Note down your email address

To sign in to the new app, please make sure that you use the same account that you used in the old version of the app. You can find your old username in the old app in User Settings.

Step 2: Install the new app "Pesto"

Then, follow the install flow, signing in with the account you found in Step 1.
